Matthew Greenway attended Brooklyn College and the National Academy of Design in New York. He received the Charles G. Shaw Memorial Award from Brooklyn College for two consecutive years (1997/1998) and has had numerous exhibitions including Figureworks, Piermont Library, Piermont, NY, Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Newport News, Virginia, and Blue Skies Gallery, Hampton, Virginia.
