The
Art of Sandra Scicchitani
Pennsylvania
artist Sandra Scicchitani began a new series of small monochromatic images
of animal/human forms last year. All in brown, these pieces are reflective
of ancient Meso-American sculpture or N. American cliff drawings.
Having
studied with Grace Hartigan at the Hoffberger School of Painting, Ms.
Scicchitani's developed color sense took these same images to a much larger,
full-colored body of work which broadens their character with color and
unites them to a contemporary environment. This work can be seen on the
following pages.
