The Art of Howard Eisman

Figureworks is pleased to present the work of enameler Howard Eisman to the website. Mr. Eisman has been working with fused glass on metal (steel and copper) for many years and has had one solo exhibition with our gallery in 2002. His next solo exhibit will be June 16 - July 31, 2006.
His work is notable for content, color, and size (24" x 36"), which is very large by enameling standards. It is also unusual that for these large pieces he uses copper, which he hammers to create surface highlights and deep pockets that pool with intensified color. The translucency is exquisite and is frequently even more accentuated by his opaque use of silver and gold.

He says of his work, "My goal is to create enamel art which conveys the idea that life can be a colorful, exuberant adventure".
